Interestingly, the Coat of Arms of the Muschamps of Barmoor was three butterflies :" Azure three butterflies silver " (Visit of Northumberland 1615 ed Foster p 91; Eliz. Roll s.s. Vol 41 p. xxxviii )
The Muscamps barons of Wooler boregold two bars and a chief gules, but the family of Barmoor reverted to the original canting device (muscarum campus) used on his seal by Thomas Muscamp
